Gareth will deliver a keynote at the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO) Conference in Sydney, where he will highlight how strengthening cultural and historical knowledge of Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander, Asian, and Pacific communities is vital to enhancing intelligence assessments. His presentation will focus on how integrating Indigenous perspectives into national security frameworks improves strategic foresight, regional engagement, and ethical intelligence practice.

IAFIE International Association for Intelligence Education Conference in Aranjuez–Madrid
In September, Gareth travels to Spain to present at the IAFIE International Association for Intelligence Education Conference in Aranjuez–Madrid (9–11 September). His talk will address the urgent need for culturally informed strategies within European intelligence, particularly in light of shifting migratory demographics, rising far-right extremism, and transnational threats. He will argue that including migrant, Indigenous, and minority worldviews fosters deeper trust, strategic adaptability, and more responsive intelligence models.

World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education (WIPCE) in Auckland
Finally, in November, Gareth returns home to Aotearoa to present at the World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education (WIPCE) in Auckland, where he will speak on “Revitalising Culture Through Relationship: Māori Values in International Business Alliances.” Drawing on his doctoral research and over two decades of international experience, Gareth will share how tikanga Māori and relationship-based principles such as whakawhirinaki (trust), whanaungatanga, and mātauranga (knowledge) are not only cultural cornerstones but also strategic assets in global partnerships
